My Brother's Keeper is a story set in the civil war era about friendship and redemption.
The creation of the film
This film has been a collaboration of talents brought together to create a beautiful story. It all began with a script, written by Matt Norsworthy.
Making a dream a reality
Where it all started...... Two Georgia boys, best friends, rise above the social challenges of race, while facing and overcoming prejudice. Like all prejudice, their friendship made no sense to racist individuals. At the time, there was a deep sense of injustice and the pain of prejudice in our community. Feeling that you are not good enough, just because of your skin color, leaves a profound mark on you emotionally, one that forever shapes your lens of the world. But that was not the case for these two boys, Luke Osteen and Austin Martin. As children, as innocents, they saw one another's true spirit and became inseparable. The director saw this unshakable bond, and from there a vision was born.
The scope of this film draws awareness to the innocence of children who are blind to racism and prejudice. It is about unconditional love and support of one another. It is about dreams. It is about the fruition of these dreams coming together into reality.
